Surreal. Magical. Dreamy ✨

Those are three words I would use to describe Cappadocia.

I first learned about it in highschool when we were talking about world history and ancient civilizations. I’ve always been a sucker for historic places. But what I thought would be a just learning, museums and a bunch of facts I would have to memorize, surprised me in more ways I can ever imagine. 🩵

El Nido might be on top of your list when visiting

El Nido might be on top of your list when visiting the Philippines but it’s not always an easy journey. 🌞

‼️ Save for your future trip to El Nido 💛

Here are the two main ways to get to El Nido:

✈️ My favorite! Flying directly with @airswift.airlinesph . El Nido has a small, quaint airport called Lio Airport and this services one airline which is Airswift. It only takes a little over an hour flight from Cebu City or Metro Manila.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐒: Airswift is a really good airline. It will take you directly to Lio Airport which is only 10-15 minutes away from El Nido Town proper.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒: It can get expensive. The speed and convenience come with a cost. When we went to El Nido last year, it costs us P10,700/RT but with a 10kg baggage.

✈️ If you’re on a budget and have a little bit more time, you can try flying to Puerto Princesa, another city in Palawan.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐒: Much more budget friendly and serviced by other airlines so you choices. Depending on promos, you can expect to pay 3,500-6,000/RT for the flight coming from Metro Manila. You can also do a side trip to Puerto Princesa first and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Subterranean River National Park.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒: The transfer. There are many van transfers offered in the airport or you could book online ahead of time. Depending on the stops and the driver, the travel from Puerto Princesa to El Nido is approximately 5-7 hours. Price is about 500-700 pesos for a shared ride, you can also book a private transfer.

𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆: Some drivers can take you to El Nido in less time, but if you’re not used to Filipino driving, then prepare for the ride of your life. 😅

𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒖𝒔: If you are already in Coron (lots of budget flights directly from MLA to Coron!), you can also take a ferry to El Nido which can be a great journey itself!

Quick break from El Nido posts - stay in Poblacion, Makati for when you are in Metro Manila! 🇵🇭

A very late post, but one weekend last February, I decided to stay at an affordable art hotel in the heart of Makati City. 💚

While Poblacion is famous for its red-light district, it is also more than that! 😍 If you are looking for good food - both authentic local and international cuisines, head on here! ❤️

I stayed at @uhotelsph for the third time but since I was alone, I booked the smaller room. I stayed at their double and triple room before and it was very spacious! 🏨

They do offer breakfast but there’s also a good 24/7 breakfast place right beside the hotel. @kantofreestylebreakfast is your best bet for good breakfast all day long!

You will find an old baroque church near the hotel. Poblacion is the oldest part of Makati. Just right outside the church, you can stop for Vietnamese food at @vinatrangph . I love the quaint vibes here! 🥰

Theres so much places to eat that will fit every budget! And of course, for your night out, lots of bars to choose from! 😍 Even local celebrities party out here! 👯‍♀️🍾
